With the streaking problem take a baby wipe or the harshest thing I would use is an alcohol wipe and run it along the blade of the wiper. This will remove any residue on the blade. there are two ways.....If you have the old wipers with the spring in the middle you have to raise the wiper arm and pivot both ends of the wiper up. You may have to use a flat head screw driver to get it off the shaft.

You need to observe the direction and how to reinsert this half - Before you pull off the old wiper, look closely at both ends bec they are different...one has notch. Inside there is a metal strip, one goes on each side and you will find this white plastic device to hold the wiper in place as you slide one end through tracks until it snaps into the notch. Thank you all|||Yes, but the mechanism may be tight with traffic film. If it makes it any easier take the arm off the spindle so you can manoevre the whole set up more easily.

I%26#039;ve yet to figure out how to fit those new floppy blades.|||Where the blade clicks into the arm there should be a little tang that holds the wiper on to the arm. pull down on the tang and pull the blade off the hook.|||Lift the wiper arm off the window and turn the wiper blade at 90 degrees to it,some have a little clip that you press, but it should just slide off as you press down.Hope this helps

Honda fit 08 wiper blade change?

I%26#039;m having a little trouble figuring out how to change the wiper blades on my honda fit 08... anyone have any vids?|||the place who sold them to you should help you...

How ever they should slide out and the new one will slide in, make sure the width of the wipe base is the same.

At the end they should have a secure clip to avoid them of falling out the arm. good luck mate.

p.s they could be tricky sometimes :)

I found this link useful try it ... you could see how it works.|||Take it to pepboys, or ask your neighbor

Changing wiper blades fiat panda?

i have looked at several how to videos on how to do this, and i have read my instruction manual, but i cannot get my blades off. I really don%26#039;t want to be a stereotypical female driver, and have to pay someone to do it. can anyone hepl me?|||If it the wiper arm has a hooked fitting on its end n shaped,Then lift the arm off the windscreen and point the blade at right angles to the arm and push the blade out of the open end, there is a little lug on the blade that locks into the arm that you can push in with a screw driver if it,s tight and then push at the same time .Refitting is a reversal of removal and the lug snaps in when in the proper location--they can be tight to come off if on there a long time|||if you but them at advance or auto zone they change them for nothing|||If you purchase your wipers from Autozone they will replace them for free.|||the package has how to do it its not that hard and most parts store wil do it if you ask them wipe blades pretty much same on every car|||If you buy the new ones at most garages then they will change them for you, as they would for any male driver. Is a $35 wiper blade change (both front wipers) practical?

I recently had my wipers (both) changed last time due to the winter season. I was charged by CarMax $35 for it - $20 for the labor and $15 for the parts (2 wipers). Is this a reasonable charge given that I cannot fix my wipers by myself and my wipers were somewhat in bad condition actually? Thanks!|||I don%26#039;t really think it is excessive. The liability issue here is pretty high. Loosing your grip on the wiper arm can cause a cracked windshield. Also, not getting the blades installed just right can cause problems from scratched windshields to dented fenders or hoods. Those companies which do the work for free (Autozone, Advance etc) give no warranty, receipt or any such. You would have to sue for sure if damage resulted. So you make your decision, do it yourself, take your chances with the %26quot;A%26quot; boys, or pay a good mechanic for his time and expenses.|||No. $20 labor to change wiper blades is excessive, especially considering they likely did not use orignal equipment.|||You got robbed man. Pepboys installs it for free. $20 for labor? It takes like 2 min and 15 sec to install it. You should have done it yourself man.|||Why not pay $15 for the new blades, and just change them yourself??? It takes 2 minutes... In fact, a lot of places, someone will be happy to show you how to install them...|||autozone or advance instales them free|||DEPENDING ON YOUR MAKE OF VEHICLE, 20 LABOR IS CHEAP CONSIDERING MOST MECHANICS CHARGE MIN. 1 HR|||I guess it%26#039;s reasonable. Wiper blades vary in quality quite a bit. I have always had best luck buying replacements from the auto parts store and replacing them myself. It%26#039;s cheaper, and the blades tend to be a bit nicer than the ones the quick lube shops sell.

You can replace them yourself. It takes literaly 2 minutes, maybee 5 minutes the first time you do it.|||They are pretty easy to do yourself so buy a pair and it make take you 5minutes tops.|||It takes about 30 seconds to change, but places like carmax probably have a 20 dollar minimum just to mess with it.|||You got screwed. The price for the parts was reasonable if they were name brand wipers, but most auto parts stores will install them for free. Wal-Mart charges to install them, but not nearly that much. Next time, go to Autozone or Advance.|||Well you can go to place%26#039;s like advanced auto parts and they do it for free as well as other places,|||Wipers are soooo easy to change. You really should learn how and save beer tokens.

I am trying to change the drivers side blade. I have already changed the passenger blade but for some reason no matter how hard I push the clip of lubricate it the blade will not come off the drivers side blade. Do you know how to get it off or a website which explains it because the manual does not say anything.|||I belive this will help, there%26#039;s a thread on how to change the blades. They talk about going to the dealer and have the blades put in. Also, what year Prius you got? Mine is a 2006 Prius. 2004 -2007 and up to 2009 have the same configurations. 1997-2001 was the 1st generation Prius, 2000-2003 have some other upgrades. 2009 version is rumored to get 80-113 MPG|||go to parts store and let them replace them..works for me

How should I change the windshield wiper blade (driver side) of Toyota Corolla 1998?

Thank you very much for your help.

I want to exchange the driverside windshield wiper blade on my corolla 98. please somebody help me.|||stop in at your local toyota dealer and buy either the inserts or the wiper and they will put it on for you at no charge if you are not sure how to do it. the inserts only work if you have the original toyota wipers on you car.

good luck|||Pretty easy to do....on these wipers, they go on very easy. Where the blade attaches to arm, push on the little tab on the underside of the blade. While pushing on that, just wiggle/pull the wiper off (downward), then just snap the new one in place, put under the %26quot;hook%26quot; (you will see this once the old blade is off), and pull up until you hear a snap.

Kinda goofy to explain, but very easy to change!!

Does anyone know how to change the rear wiper blade on a scion xa?

it%26#039;s a b***h to get to. the owner%26#039;s manual mentions nothing of it and i am having trouble finding anything online about it. i%26#039;m not automotive ignorant and this isn%26#039;t the first wiper blade i%26#039;ve ever changed. i just can%26#039;t figure out how to get the d*mn thing off.|||yea all you have to do is tap it with a sledge hammer|||Google up scion forums. You should get some answers in there. Good luck.|||look at the handle attachment use small screwdriver and pop cover this will allow you to open or move to to replace.|||Uhm Try going to the Dealer Ship and ask them if they can change it for you or if you dont wanna pay the dealer ship then try looking up the size of the wiper in the manual book then try finding the part. If you cant find the part then i advise you to go to the dealer ship.

How do you change the windshield wiper blade on my 2007 vw jetta?

I brought it to walmart to get the blade change because it seems that they ripped, the man told me that it has a weird lock on there that only the dealership can change. has anyone ever done it b4 cause i don%26#039;t feel like paying 3times the price at the dealership.|||To start off, don%26#039;t buy wiper at Walmart for your VW! You actually can%26#039;t anyway, because Vw blades are especially designed to fit the wiper arm. I just got some for my 2007 Jetta also. They cost 20 each, which is the price of a good wiper anyway.

As far as changing them, its really not that hard at all. The only thing that might give you trouble is actually raising them off the windshield, since they hide under the hood.

Here is what you do: put you key in the ignition, and turn it to the mode right before the car starts, then take the key out, and press down on the windshield wiper lever. This should cause the the pause half way through wiping. (instructions all found in manual. Could be under %26quot;service mode%26quot; or something like that.)

Then, life the wiper of the windshield, and push in the tiny little square on the tip of the wiper arm. After that, you can just slide the wiper blade out.

I am sure your local VW dealer will help for no charge, or you can just look in the manual

Good luck!|||I just encountered this same issue with my 2007 VW Jetta. I bought and returned several wiper blades from walmart, pep boys, and auto zone before I acctually realized that even though the book in the store says it will work..IT DOESN%26#039;T! I should have known its another one of those VW traps.

How much does a wiper blade change cost?

I%26#039;m taking my car in for an oil change and I want to get my wipers done too. i know how much the oil change costs but im not sure how much it costs for the wipers, for both the blades and the labor. thanks!|||change the wiper blades yourself, it will be a lot cheaper. if you do not know how most auto parts stores will install them for you for free if you buy them from the store.|||If you actually care how much this costs - just do it yourself. It%26#039;s the easiest auto maintenance you can do, other than putting air in your tires!

Blades can run from like $2 up to about $10 for the really fancy ones, as far as I remember.|||There should not be a charge for labor. The cost of the baldes is it. Blades can cost from approx. $6 a piece to as much as $30 a piece. But I%26#039;m sure the place where you are going will not have the very expensive ones. They are usually sold at specialty shops or car magazines. |||$20.00 per blade for %26quot;RainEx%26quot; brand ....Far superior and will last for years
