Replacing windshield wiper blades?

Is there any specific indication that the ones from years ago that were simple to change performed badly? It seems that the changing procedure has matured into a very complex thing, anyone else thing so also?
Replacing windshield wiper blades?
Yeah, its jacked up, but all ANCO wiper blades have detailed instructions on how to install them. they are sold at almost all major parts stores.

1987 Honda Accord LXi price negotiable - $1200

Car is in good shape with lots of features. Automatic, Sun Roof, Power windows, Power locks, Cruise Control, Heater, AC, rear seat folds down and stock aluminum alloy wheels. Car has a clean title and i've owned it a little over a year. I mostly drove it to work and school and it easily gets 30 miles a gallon. It has 207XXX miles and has been well maintained. I recently put a new alternator in, changed the oil, changed wiper blades, and check the brakes which looked good. About three months ago i did spark plugs and air filter. I installed the pioneer cd deck and sony 3 way speakers all around. I bought two new tires last winter and two this spring so they all match and are in great shape. I also had it aligned when i bought the last two of tires. It passed smog on the 18th of november and runs great.

Call me anytime and please leave a vmail

Russ

Come out and test drive

Price is negotiable

It looks like a decent car overall. I would take the time to double check all the options and make sure they are working. Check for a spare tire, jack, and lug wrench that fits the wheels as well as a wheel lock key (if applicable). Personally, I would offer $800 and use the excess mileage as the reason for your lower offered amount, however it's up to you and your budget. Good luck and I hope this helps.
Should i buy this honda?
it seems like a good car, the mileage is kinda high even for a honda but the car will last you a lot longer if you maintain it correctly.. just make sure the cars had its timing belt changed recently, due remember though a 1200 car will get you from point a to point B thats about it..
If you need a car it sounds like a good deal. You should test drive first to make sure that you like it.
it sounds great. hondas are reliable and fuel efficient. it seems well outfitted too - Sony speakers!, alloy wheels pioneer cd deck. By the way what possessed you to support mccain?
if the alternator was recently replaced it's probably because it when bad, and when stiff like that happens, more is to come, plus that price is way to high for the miles on it

Automotive Jobs For 15 Year Old?

Im 15, and Ill be 16 In June. I need to get a job and start saving for a car. I want to learn more about cars, but my school doesn't have a automotive program anymore. So I figured I could maybe make money, and learn about cars at the same time. I was thinking about AutoZone or something because I had a relative who worked there and basically said if you can change wiper blades, headlights, and use a computer your good. But I dont know if this is true or not, also I dont know how old you have to be. But anyway ya, If anyone knows any places that hire 15 year olds, and have to do with Automotive please let me know. I dont care if its oil shop, tire shop, muffler, cleaning oil off the floor I dont care. As long as theres money, and car stuff involved. Thanks for reading this.
Automotive Jobs For 15 Year Old?
You could try your local garages for some part time clean up, or a used car lot, most places need you to be 16 and are resrtricted on how many hours you can get. Ask your school counselor they may have papers to fill out to get permision to work. Also they may have a few good leads for you. Best bet is to ask everyone everywhere.

autozone or NAPA or another place like that would be a great place to learn about cars and stuff, while making money. go down to your local NAPA or autozone and ask if they have any positions for you to start in. if they do, then great, if not, keep looking. good luck.
i don't know where you are from. even if you are 5,you can get an opportunity learn it in india, but now a days it has been classified as child labour so you do not get paid.even when get paid i doubt if would be enough to buy a spark plug, let alone a car
Wash cars

Detail (clean inside) cars
my little brother started work in nationwide autocentre at 15 he has been there a year and loves it go to your local garage and ask them if they want a newbie
Heeeeeyyyyy!!! Im 15 too but i wont be 16 till next year but email me when you find a job because i have that same problem. They only have automotive classes at the continuation highschool around here but im interested in cars, not Nedicine and all that stuff.
try working at an oil and lube place.
Check local car dealers.
y do u wnt to do a job.

by d way u can try for a sales executive.
you can apply for an OJT in any car dealer as an apprentice.
Try some shops in your area, we can hire 15 year olds here to change oil, then in years they can learn alot. Try some national chain shops in your area and see if they are hiring lube techs. Good luck
If you are really interested in working at AutoZone, go into the store and ask to speak to the manager. Explain you goals to him(her). The worst they can say is you are too young come back later, HOWEVER they may give you the chance. If it doesn't work out, try some used car lots. you may be able to start washing cars and work your way up and as you work there you may get a better deal on a car.
sounds rediculous, but how about a car wash. you do learn minor mechanics and stuff so try that.
w2ash cars in a repairshop fo spending money and lear by watching good mechs work on cars

Where can i get a job (mechanic)?

Im 16 and im looking for a part time job from 3pm to whenever, like closing time. I like working on cars, but i dont know everything about them yet, i could do basic stuff like change tires repair tires change wiper blades test batteries change batteries change oil /fluids etc. Where can i work at 16? Maybe a quick lube? I was looking at sears auto center but i gotta be 18 and have a drivers license. BTW i dont have a license either
Where can i get a job (mechanic)?
Try repair shops. You are wise to become a mechanic as there is always work.
Where can i get a job (mechanic)?
I just found a good business that didn't cost me anything to start if you are interested, do you can do it full time or part time and still make money but you do have to put word out there that this is what you are looking for.... also you can apply for wal-mart, they may be hiring, but then again you will need a license for that. But this business doesnt require any money out of pocket and you can make money pretty quickly if you have plenty of people that you know who will sign up under you and you can even do this kind of work at 16 years of age, it doesn't matter.. let me know and ill send ya the link.

Need some help changing my windshield wipers?

i got a 2006 nissan maxiam a few months back and the guy i bought it from lost the owners manual so i don't know how to change the windshield wipers. i've looked online for info and they say pull the release tab, but when i push the tab, i can't get the blade out

thanks for you time

Depends on whether you are trying to replace the entire wiper assembly or just the rubber blade itself.

Many wiper arms have a hook at the end and you push the wiper toward the base of the wiper arm instead of pulling away from it.

To get just the rubber blade out I normally use pliers to bend one of the metal tabs on either side of the blade, at the end of the blade closest to the base of the arm, and slide the support band out. The blade will almost fall out without either one of the support bands. Then you slide the replacement back in.

The easiest was is to go to Autozone, Advance Auto, etc and they'll change them for you for free.

make it easy on yourself, get a tin snips or a wire cutters and cut off the old ones (do not cut the pole it sits on)

The wipers pull straight off of the post (that is 90 degrees from the wiper arm)

I once bent the arm trying to remove the wiper... look at the new wiper and see the center hole... that is the separation point.

cut it off and save yourself time

the new one snaps right back on that pole (it is about an inch or so long)

I'm planning on buying a Saturn Vue in the next few weeks...

(please don't try to pressure me into getting another car, I've done research and this car is the best for me)

    I have 2 choices:

a 2003 with 32,135 miles - FWD - V6 for $12,900 and the dealership will throw in a 5 year/100,000mi warranty for $2,000 plus free oil changes, wiper blades and inspections for 2 years

    or a 2006 with 29,343mi - 4 cyl. - FWD for $13,895

the 2003 seems like a good bet with the extended warranty, but I'd like some extra input
    What's my best bet?
A Saturn Vue is an excellent choice. I own one that has been truly a joy to drive and completely trouble-free. However, I'd go with the 2006 over the 2003. The following are the basis for my decision:

First and foremost, the 2006 sounds like a better deal than the 2003. Double check Kelley Blue Book by entering their features/options.

Second, extended warranties lock you into using the dealer (and often have exclusions). $2,000 sounds like an inflated price. Also, what is its deductible? If you really want an extended warranty, you should be able to buy an independent, 3rd-party for the 2006.

Third, my 2004 Saturn Vue was recalled for its rear suspension. GM has made several refinements between the 2003 and the redesigned 2006 Saturn Vue. Making an great SUV even better.

Good luck with your decision, I hope this helps.
    What's my best bet?
Edmunds.com was a big help in the decision making! Thanks!

I would go with the 2003. For a car 3 years newer than your other option, but to be %26quot;only%26quot; a $1,000 more seems like the best deal. Go with the 2003.
Using the price guides at Edmunds.com, which I often use in my work, the 2006 is the better deal pricewise. They are offering it to you for less than the private seller price. I'd guess the high mileage has made it hard to sell. With the 2006, In two years you'll have a car that is likely to need fewer repairs than a car that is then six years old. Also Edmunds' users give the 2006 a higher rating.

It wasn't clear whether the extended warranty on the 2003 was %26quot;free%26quot; (nothing's free) or whether it would cost $2000. If it's the latter, then the pricing on the 2003 is not very attractive at all in my view.

Some people have a strong preference for a V6 over a 4 cyl. You'd want to weigh that, or perhaps keep looking.

    Good luck.
